Overview

Shift types allow you to assign a specific category to shifts. This is particularly useful when you are setting up a Sleepover or Night Shift shift.

When generating a shift, simply select the category drop-down menu, which by default will have Standard selected. Once a shift type is selected, continue to fill out shift information as per usual.

Add New shift types to customise your account

It is possible to add new shift types to suit your requirements.

Use the left-hand menu to access your account settings. Head over to Account and then Settings.

Next, scroll down and locate the Shift types module (as seen in the image below). If you click Edit, then you will be able to add your own shift types.

Note: You will find some pre-filled system generated shift types cannot be deleted.

To add a new shift type, click the blue "Add new shift type" button on the bottom of the hovering page.

Type the name, External id, adjust the color if needed, and click Save.

Here is a GIF on how to add a shift type.

Adjusting shift type colour

Click on the shift type colour, then choose the colour you wish to apply or input the colour code for the type. Click OK.

This colour tag will be applied to the Scheduler according to the shift type selected for the shift.

Show and unarchive the archived shift types

Toggle on the Show archived on to show the archived shift types. To close the archived shift type page, simply toggle the button back off.

To unarchive a shift type, click the unarchive button on the right side of the archived type.
