A pending shift can be caused when a shift is awaiting staff confirmation. 

If the assigned care-worker has not provided confirmation for the shift assigned to them then the following will occur:

  1. The shift will be sent to into a pending state
  2. The assigned care-worker will be highlighted orange

Staff Confirmation Required

This enables staff to confirm their attendance when they have been assigned a shift.  If you donot require confirmation to staff then simply leave this checkbox unticked (as showed in screenshot below)
