Customizing Note Headings

Uploading careworker notes is a vital aspect of caregiver and office staff communication concerning clients.

Customized note headings serve as a guide for care workers when reporting events during client shifts. They enable you and your team to establish a standard template for progress notes, ensuring staff include essential information for each shift.

In this article, we’ll walk you through how note headings can be customized to best fit the needs of your team.

📝 Note: If you are on the Pro or Premium plan, you can set up standard templates for your Incident, Feedback and Enquiry notes. Basic plan users only have access to editing Progress Notes headings.

Creating Note Headings

To add a new heading:

  1. On the left-hand menu, select Account.

  2. Go to Settings.

  3. This will open your Account Settings page. On this page, look for the Note headings section.

  4. Click Manage.

  5. A pop-up window will appear. On the lower left corner, click Add new heading.

  6. This will create a new row. Type the heading name on the designated field.

  7. Check the mandatory checkbox if it is mandatory.

  8. Click Save.

  9. Then click Done.

Editing Existing Note Headings

You can also edit existing headings. To do so:

  1. On your Account Settings page, look for the Note headings section.

  2. Click Manage.

  3. A pop-up window will appear. To edit a heading, click the pencil icon on its right side.


  4. This will unlock two fields, allowing you to edit the heading and check/uncheck whether it’s mandatory.


  5. Once you’re done, click Save.

  6. Then click Done.

Deleting Note Headings

You can delete note headings that are no longer relevant to you and your team. Here’s how it’s done:

  1. On your Account Settings page, find the Note headings section.

  2. Click Manage.


  3. A pop-up window will appear. To delete a heading, click the red bin icon on its rightmost side.


  4. Once you’re done, click Save.

  5. Then click Done.

Customizing Note Headings Order

Finally, you have the flexibility to rearrange the order of note headings on the mobile app. Here's how you can do it:

  1. On your Account Settings page, find the Note headings section.

  2. Click Manage.

  3. On the top right-hand side of the pop-up window, click Edit Order.

  4. Drag and drop note headings according to the order you prefer.

  5. Once you’re done, click Save.

Considerations

When adding the notes via the web app, (app.shiftcare.com) the headings are not mandatory and can be overwritten, even when the mandatory checkbox is ticked.
