Describe clockin and clockout process. Why and when should it done.

The ShiftCare mobile app provides the ability to clockin and clockout of a shift. This functionality provides coordinators the ability to know the whereabouts of staff members while they are on the road visiting clients.
The clockin and clockout feature allows smartphone users to begin and end a shift locating them with gps technology.
The clockin and clockout feature by default enforces that users can only clockin or clockout within 30 minutes of the shift start or end time and also must be within 500 meters of the shift's address. As an administrator or coordinator user type when creating (or editing) a shift it is possible to allow users to overwrite this function by ticking the Disable GPS Check whilst entering the address. This might be necessary in areas without mobile coverage or at an address Google's address matching does not recognise such as a new housing development.
First step to make use of the clockin feature when assigned a shift is to ensure GPS is enabled. When opening the ShiftCare app it will check to ensure GPS is enabled, if it is not the app will prompt you to turn it on.
Once the GSP signal has been established users are presented a list of their assigned shifts.
Choosing on one of the shifts loads up all of the details such as the client name and the address of the shift. If the address has been entered correctly a map of the location will also be displayed.
If the clockin and clockout function has been enabled within the account settings users will notice a play button at the bottom of the screen. To clockin click on this button:
When the play style clockin button has been pressed the user will see the button change to a loading icon.
Once the shift has been clocked-in to users will have a stop symbol shown. This can be clicked any time up to 30 minutes past the shift completion time (and within 500 meters of the address - assuming the GPS override option hasn't been selected).
Once a shift has been clocked-out of and ended by the user the screen will not show the play or stop buttons.
Troubleshooting clockin and clockout
There are certain circumstances where the clockin and clockout feature will not work. Below is a list of scenarios to help you troubleshoot if this is the case.
- The address must be matched to an address Google Maps recognises. When entering the address of the shift Google Maps will match the address to it's known locations. If the shift address cannot be found the clockin and clockout feature will not work.
- GPS settings must be turned on and enabled. Users with GPS turned off will be prompted to enable it when opening the ShiftCare app.
