Managing leave requests in ShiftCare's mobile app or web is simple & convenient.
⚠️ This feature is no longer available to new accounts, it has been retired.
It is more common to have the Unavailability feature enabled.
This guide will walk you through how to request leave, track the status of your requests, and understand what happens once your leave is approved or declined. Whether you need to apply for a single day, partial leave, or recurring leave, follow these steps to ensure your request is submitted correctly.
There are two ways to apply for leave:
Requesting Leave via the Mobile App
Clicking on the menu icon will allow you to select the Leave page.
Once in the Leave section you'll see any existing leave and its status.
You can add leave by clicking on the Plus icon in the bottom right-hand corner.
When adding leave you'll be prompted to select the Type of leave and when it begins and ends. You can also upload supporting documents.
📝 For leave across multiple days please select the start and end dates and set the Repeat to Daily.
Requesting Leave via Web Access
Steps for Staff to Request Leave
Click on your name in the top-right corner.
Select "Profile" from the dropdown menu.
Click "Request Leave" on the bottom right of the profile page.
Complete the leave request form, including:
Leave type
Start and end date
Reason for leave (optional document upload such as a medical certificate)
Selecting a partial day leave by unchecking "All day" and specifying times
Click "Save" to submit the request.
HR will receive a notification, and the leave request will appear in the calendar in blue.
Recurring Leave Options
One-off – Leave for a single date
Daily – Leave for every day within the selected date range
Weekly – Leave on the same day each week within the date range
Fortnightly – Leave on the same day every two weeks
Every 4 weeks – Leave every four weeks on the selected start date
Monthly – Leave on the same date of each month
Weekdays – Leave for all weekdays in the date range
Weekends – Leave for all weekends in the date range
Leave Request Statuses
Approved (Blue) – Leave has been approved.
Pending (Purple) – Leave request is awaiting approval.
Declined (Red) – Leave has been declined.
