This feature is available if Smart Rostering has been enabled for your account. If you donât see it, contact our support team or your Customer Success Manager.
đ What does it do?
Once enabled, the Smart Suggestion panel appears when youâre editing a shiftâeither in Basic or Advanced Edit mode.
It suggests the most suitable carers for the shift based on:
Required criteria:
Shift start time
Shift end time
Optional criteria:
Client
Overnight flag
Suggestions are updated automatically when you change any relevant shift details.

đŻ How does it choose staff?
The system will only suggest carers who:
Are available during the shift time
Donât have overlapping shifts
Have not exceeded their weekly hour limits
â ď¸ Important: Only published shifts are checked for conflicts if your account has publishing enabled. Staff are ranked using a weighted score based on factors like past assignments and availability.
đ Things to know
Suggestions appear only for new shifts.
If you switch from Basic to Advanced edit mode, the list refreshes (but your selected staff will remain).
If optional fields like Client are blank, suggestions may be less accurate.
Improvements to the recommendation engine are ongoing.

Q: Can I still manually assign staff?
Yes! The suggested list is optionalâyou can always pick a staff member manually.
Q: Why isn't a particular staff member showing?
They may be unavailable, have overlapping shifts, or have exceeded their weekly hour limit.
Q: Can I turn this off?
This feature cannot be turned off at this time. It is available on Professional and Premium subscription plans.
