Tracking and Managing Shift Breaks in the Mobile App

Track and manage paid or unpaid shift breaks directly in the mobile app, with clear start and end times and status updates.

Break Tracking allows staff to log their shift breaks directly in the mobile app.

Admins can set paid or unpaid breaks when creating shifts, and carers can start and end each break individually. This ensures accurate records and better compliance with workplace requirements.

Viewing Breaks

Breaks can be seen by navigating to My Schedule in the side menu and clicking a rostered shift. The shift detail screen shows a break summary and a 'Break Time' button to open the break list.

The break list screen displays all scheduled breaks for that shift. Breaks may be displayed as Paid or Unpaid.

The Start Break button is only available once the staff member has clocked into the shift.

Tracking Breaks

Carers can start and end breaks individually from the break list screen.

Starting a Break

  1. Tap 'Start Break' and confirm the action by selecting 'Yes'.

  2. The break status will change to 'In progress', and the 'End Break' button becomes available.

    • While a break is active, other breaks cannot be started.

Ending a Break

  1. Tap 'End Break'.

  2. A confirmation window will display the break details. You can adjust the 'Start Break Time' and 'End Break Time' and add a note if needed. Click 'End Break' after reviewing the summary.

  3. The break will be marked Completed, with a summary shown.

Clocking Out with Breaks

You can end a break and clock out at the same time from the shift home screen.

From here, you can adjust the start and end break times and add a note if needed. Click 'End break & Clock out' after reviewing the summary.

If you try to clock out without starting a planned break, you’ll be asked to provide a reason before proceeding. You can either provide a reason and clock out from the shift or go back and log your breaks.
