Shift Bonuses

Learn how to add one-off shift bonuses, manage limitations, apply them to recurring shifts, and view them in the mobile app.

The Shift Bonus feature allows you to assign one-off bonuses to individual shifts. Bonuses are visible to staff on mobile and are included in the shift’s total projected cost.

📝 Note: Bonuses are currently limited to single-carer shifts.

This guide includes:

Adding a Bonus

  1. Create or edit a shift.

  2. In the Time & Location section, toggle 'Shift Bonus' on and enter the Bonus Amount (e.g., $50).

  3. Click 'Save'.

Important: Enabling this feature will just display the bonus. You will need to add an allowance to the shift for bonuses to flow through to payroll systems.

Limitations

Bonuses are only supported for single-carer shifts. If you try to add multiple carers to a shift with a bonus:

  • A warning pop-up will appear.

  • Clicking 'Proceed' will remove and disable the bonus.

  • Clicking 'Cancel' will stop the additional carer from being added.

Recurring Shifts

Bulk updates to recurring shifts will also update their bonuses. Any new shifts created by extending or updating a recurrence will automatically include bonuses if they were applied in the original setup.

The single-carer rule still applies. Future recurring shifts with more than one carer will not include bonuses.

Viewing Bonuses in the Mobile App

The bonus amount will be visible to carers both on their assigned shifts and on Job Board shifts in the mobile app.
