Auto-Approve Timesheets Using the Attendance Threshold in Account Settings

Automatically approve timesheets based on successful clock-in/out times by setting an attendance threshold in your account settings.

Auto-approve shifts is a time-saving feature that allows you to automatically approve timesheets when workers clock in and out of shifts within a set attendance threshold.

Both the Attendance Threshold and Auto-Approve Shift settings can be enabled through your Account > Settings in the sidebar menu.

Scroll down to the Time and Attendance section, where you can:

  • Set the attendance threshold

  • Enable the option to automatically approve shifts when clock-in/out is within the threshold

Click the 'Edit' button in the upper right corner of the section.

To adjust the attendance threshold, use the up and down arrows to increase or decrease the number of minutes.

Next, toggle the auto approve shift setting to turn it on.

When this is enabled, workers’ timesheets will be automatically approved if their clock-in and clock-out times fall within the threshold you’ve set. This threshold/tolerance means that the timesheet will still be approved even if the worker clocks in slightly early or late (within the threshold minutes).

Example:
You set a 15-minute threshold, and a shift is scheduled from 9:00 am to 10:00 am:

  • If the worker clocks in at 8:45 am and clocks out at 10:15 am, the system will still accept the scheduled shift time.

  • For timesheet calculation, this means the recorded hours will remain at 1 hour, rather than 1 hour and 30 minutes.
