ShiftCare allows you to capture both client signatures and staff signatures directly in the mobile app. This ensures services are verified, disputes are easier to resolve, and compliance is strengthened.

Admins can control whether client and/or staff signatures are required via the shift details panel.
If staff/client signatures are mandatory, carers will not be able to clock out until they are captured.
Collecting Client Signatures in the App
Open a shift in the mobile app and tap the 'Signatures' button.
Youâll see a list of all required and collected signatures for that shift. Click the floating '+' icon and choose 'Client Signature'.
If there are multiple participants, you can use the dropdown menu and select the relevant participant.
Hand the device to the participant so they can sign. An optional note can be added if needed.
Click 'Save' and repeat for any additional signatures required for the shift. A confirmation message will appear at the top of the mobile screen.
Collecting Staff Signatures
Staff signatures are only available for 1:1 shifts. For multi-client shifts, only client signatures can be collected.
Open a shift in the mobile app and tap the 'Signatures' button.
Youâll see a list of all required and collected signatures for that shift. Click the floating '+' icon and choose 'Staff Signature'.
Provide a signature, or if no signature is available, add a note explaining why, and tick the 'Signature could not be obtained' checkbox.
If staff/client signatures are mandatory, carers will not be able to clock out until they are captured.

Reviewing Signatures in ShiftCare
As staff members collect signatures, they will be instantly available for review on the ShiftCare web app. Only admin users can view signatures.
Per Shift
Click on a shift from the Scheduler and navigate to the 'Signatures' tab next to 'Events'. This tab displays the collected signatures for that shift.
Tabular View
Switching to tabular view will allow you to see a snapshot for the entire day. Switch to tabular view using the dropdown menu in the Scheduler.
Shifts with collected signatures will show the signature icon.
Hover over the signature icon to display the collected signature, along with any notes entered by the staff member.
