Activity Logs and Shift Tracking

View a detailed audit trail of all system changes. Track global activity or specific shift history for compliance and error checking.

Activity Logs provide a detailed audit trail of changes made within your ShiftCare account. Whether you need to investigate a specific shift update or review global activity, these logs offer full visibility for compliance, error checking, and historical tracking.

The Activity Log feature is available only on Premium and Enterprise plans.

Account Activity Log

The Account Activity Log allows you to see every update made across the system in one place, including:

  • Action: What was changed (previous vs. new value)

  • Performed By: Who made the action

  • Date: When it occurred

You can filter this view to focus specifically on the resource you want to track.

  1. Navigate to Account > Activity Log from the sidebar menu.

  2. Select the Resource Type you want to focus on, and add a date range if needed.

    At the moment, we only provide the following data to choose from the Resource Type dropdown:

    • User

    • Client

    • Account

    • Setting

    • Setting (ShiftType)

    • Setting (NoteTemplate)

    • Setting (Holiday)

    • Shift

    • Setting (Advanced Client Detail Heading)

    • Setting (Integration)

    • Setting (Job Title)

    • Setting (Client Type)

    • Teams

    • Allowance

    • Prices

    • Pay Group

  3. Click 'View' to see more details about the change.

Shift-Level Logs (Shift Drawer)

If you are looking for the history of a specific shift, you can view information directly from the Scheduler without navigating away.

Activity Log

Open the Scheduler and click on a shift to open the details drawer. Scroll down to the 'Log' tab. This tab displays a chronological feed of all the changes made to this specific shift.

This makes it easy to track the full history of a shift, spot errors, or answer questions about when and why something changed.

Note: Audit history older than 6 months is not displayed in the app for the Activity Log and Shift Log features.

This data is not deleted; it is securely archived and can be retrieved upon request for compliance or support purposes.

Events

Open the Scheduler and click on a shift to open the details drawer. Scroll down to the 'Events' tab. This tab displays a chronological feed of the events that happen within the shift, such as log in and log out times, added notes, etc.

Click 'View More' to open the whole history of shift events, which you can filter by start and end dates.

You can also summarise notes using AI by clicking '⭐ Summarise Notes'. This will generate an AI summary that you can then add as a Progress Note.

Signatures

Open the Scheduler and click on a shift to open the details drawer. Scroll down to the 'Signatures' tab. This tab displays the signature/s gathered during the shift.
